The CLA has welcomed the UK Government’s decision to relax the three-crop rule which will help thousands of flood-hit farmers.
CLA President Mark Bridgeman said:
“The CLA welcomes UK Government’s decision to relax the three-crop rule following significant lobbying over the past few months. This derogation will make a huge difference to the thousands of farmers that haven’t been able to plant crops this year because of the severe floods.
"Extending the Farming Recovery Fund to cover additional areas impacted by significant rainfall is also welcomed. The additional £6m to support farms will aid businesses in repairing some of the damage caused by unprecedented levels of rain and we look forward to working with Defra and the RPA to ensure funds can reach those that need it.”
