Speaker line-up for CLA Breakfast at Royal Bath & West Show announced
Speakers will debate debate the pressing issues facing landowners, farmers and rural business owners.
We are delighted to be returning to the Royal Bath & West Show in 2026 for the CLA Big Breakfast, which will be held in a new location on Thursday 28 May (8am-10am).
This year, we will be hosting the event on the top floor of the Wessex Pavilion, offering fantastic views across the main arena.
Our line-up of speakers will provide attendees with a lively and engaging debate covering all issues facing landowners, farmers and rural business owners.
Our confirmed speakers are:
- Sarah Dyke, MP for Glastonbury and Somerton and Liberal Democrats spokesperson for Rural Affairs. Sarah comes from a Somerset farming family that can be traced back more than 250 years to the local area. She was elected as the MP for Glastonbury and Somerton in a July 2023 by-election, winning the seat once again in the General Election in 2024. She has been a strong voice for Somerset’s farming community, calling attention to the issues such as trade deals, livestock exports and the Sustainable Farming Incentive scheme. She has also worked closely with the Farm Safety Foundation on farmers’ mental health.

He was closely involved with the Agricultural Tenancies Act 1995, several rounds of CAP reform and now the new policies developing across the United Kingdom. He handles the many issues covered by the CAAV including agricultural tenancy and land occupation issues, taxation, valuation, planning, climate change and environmental issues, liaising with government at all levels and writing widely on both policy and practice. He is an Assembly member of the European Group of Valuers’ Associations (TEGoVA) and Vice Chairman of the European Valuation Standards Board.

Wyke Farms has been producing Somerset Cheddar through sustainable practices, with Richard having carried these values forward further to make world class cheese sold in over 160 countries. Under Richard’s management, Wyke Farms has utilised renewable energy and carbon reduction using solar and biogas, recycled water to minimise waste, whilst supporting biodiversity and nurturing soil health, with their Ivy cheese being the first ever carbon neutral cheese producedHe was awarded an MBE in His Majesty The King’s New Year Honours for services to sustainable agriculture and food production.
