The art of a good brew: Members defy stormy weather conditions to enjoy brewery tour

Goddards Brewery hosts social event for CLA Isle of Wight members

CLA members enjoyed a visit to Goddards Brewery, Hale Common.

CLA members defied Storm Ciarán to venture out for a brewery tour and tastings on the Isle of Wight.

As 70mph winds battered the south coast, island members visited the family-run, award-winning Goddards Brewery in Hale Common for a social evening.

In 1993 Goddards began with a 15 barrel brew-length plant, installed in a fine old barn at Barnsley Farm in Ryde.

Since then the brewery plant has been increased to a 22 barrel brew-length, and is now the oldest brewery in operation on the island.

Members also had a talk from CLA Vice President Gavin Lane about the organisation's recent work and lobbying successes, followed by drinks and a light buffet.

The event was kindly supported by BCM and Moore South.
