Several organisations across the South East have recently been awarded grants totalling nearly £30,000 from the CLA Charitable Trust (CLACT), to help connect young people with nature and the countryside.

The trust is funded almost entirely by subscriptions and donations from members of the CLA, and has recently approved applications from:

  • Oxford City Farm, awarded £10,000 to support food growing, volunteering and inclusive wellbeing programmes.
  • Sitopia Farm, awarded £10,000 to help fund a co-ordinator to manage education programmes at this working horticultural farm in inner London.
  • Microphthalmia, Anophthalmia & Coloboma Support, awarded £9,000 for a five-day Jamie's Farm residential for 12 visually impaired teenagers.

Since its foundation in 1980, the trust has given more than £2m in grants to a wide variety of organisations and projects.
