The CLA’s Chief Legal Adviser Andrew Gillett was among the speakers at a recent Thames Valley Police rural crime barn event for the Milton Keynes area.

The CLA also had an information stand at the session, which was attended by the force’s Police and Crime Commissioner and local neighbourhood teams who gave updates on recent cases and upcoming initiatives.

Representatives from a number of stakeholders were on hand to network and offer ways of joint working.

CLA South East Regional Director Tim Bamford said: "It was very useful to catch up with like-minded organisations who all share the desire to help tackle rural crime.

"Crime can have such a massive impact on individuals, businesses and communities and we will do everything we can to help minimise the effects. We would also urge everyone to report all incidents to police so they can build up the most complete picture possible of trends and types of crime."

The CLA regularly meets with Chief Constables and Police and Crime Commissioners to discuss rural crime. If you have an issue you would like us to raise, please email mike.sims@cla.org.uk
