CLA South East has been busy campaigning in the local media in recent weeks to raise awareness of topical rural issues.

For example, we conducted radio and TV interviews on issues including Kent County Council forcing residents to book slots at its recycling centres.

The CLA’s concerns that it could lead to even more fly-tipping in the Garden of England were broadcast by BBC Radio Kent, while Regional Director Tim Bamford was interviewed by ITV Meridian for its evening news bulletins (picture, above).

Other topics included commenting on the Government’s response to Julian Glover’s Landscapes Review which looks at whether the protections for National Parks and AONBs are still fit for purpose; and welcoming the latest hare coursing legislation which promises greater powers and penalties to target offenders.
