Following a highly successful conference that brought together powerhouse industry leaders and rural entrepreneurs from across Wales, CLA Cymru is continuing its commitment to supporting rural enterprise by creating a dedicated platform for collaboration, innovation and growth.

The new Business Branch will be unveiled at the CLA Cymru Business and Professional Members event, marking a significant step forward in strengthening connections across its diverse membership and showcasing the breadth and value of business expertise within CLA Cymru and across rural communities.

The initiative brings together rural business owners, entrepreneurs and professional advisers, providing a space to connect, share knowledge and explore opportunities in a supportive, member-led environment.

Rural businesses are at the heart of the Welsh economy, spanning sectors including agriculture, tourism, food and drink, hospitality and professional services, alongside agriculture. The Business Branch will harness this collective strength through a programme of networking events, workshops and discussions, designed to encourage collaboration and practical learning.

A key focus of the Business Branch will be to support entrepreneurship, innovation and resilience, while also ensuring the voice of rural enterprise is clearly represented within CLA Cymru’s wider policy and advocacy work.

Following the success of our Rural Business Conference, we wanted to keep that energy and collaboration going. The launch of the Business Branch is a natural next step, bringing together the incredible talent, innovation and expertise within our membership to support one another and drive rural businesses forward. It’s about creating meaningful connections and making sure rural enterprise continues to thrive across Wales.

Victoria Bond Director of CLA Cymru

Rural businesses are incredibly diverse, but we share many of the same challenges and opportunities. This Business Branch will give members a valuable platform to learn from each other, build relationships and strengthen their businesses. It’s an exciting development that reflects both the strength of our sector and the importance of working together.

Tom Homfray, CLA Cymru Policy Chair

The Business Branch is open to all CLA Cymru members involved in rural enterprise, as well as professional members who wish to contribute their expertise.

Its launch at the Royal Welsh Show highlights CLA Cymru’s ongoing commitment to building a vibrant, connected and forward-looking rural business community.
