Help ensure action is taken on hare coursing

CLA Cymru is working with police and government officials to make policing rural crime a priority. Sharing your experience can help us make that case more effectively.

Hare coursing poses several threats to rural businesses

Hare coursing and associated rural crime continue to present serious challenges for farmers, landowners and rural businesses across Wales. Recent concerns raised by CLA Cymru members have highlighted the wider consequences of these offences, including unlawful trespass, damage to agricultural land, disruption to business operations and the significant costs of securing rural properties. Beyond the immediate financial impact, repeated incidents can leave members feeling vulnerable in their own home.

We are calling on members across Wales to share their experiences of hare coursing and associated rural crime. Whether you have experienced repeated incidents, suffered damage to your property, incurred additional security costs or encountered difficulties when reporting offences, we want to hear from you.

CLA Cymru wants to ensure that these concerns are heard by the police and Welsh Government, and that more is done to tackle rural crime. Your experiences are essential to shaping our lobbying priorities and securing a more effective response to rural crime. Evidence from members will help CLA Cymru identify recurring issues, understand the effectiveness of existing enforcement arrangements and build a stronger case when engaging with police forces, Police and Crime Commissioners and relevant Welsh Government officials.

Members wishing to share their experiences or raise concerns are encouraged to contact Tyler Chambers, CLA Cymru Policy Adviser responsible for rural crime - tyler.chambers@cla.org.uk. All criminal incidents should also be reported to the police.
