Nature Recovery Strategy for Wiltshire & Swindon approved by Wiltshire Council Cabinet

The final LNRS will now be considered by Full Council later this month (October) and, if adopted, published and made available for inspection in accord with Regulation 19 Section 105 of the Environment Act 2021.

The LNRS has been developed in collaboration with supporting authorities—Swindon Borough Council, New Forest National Park Authority, and Natural England—as well as a wide range of stakeholders including environmental groups, landowners and managers, and ecological organisations.

Following public and stakeholder consultation earlier this year, the final LNRS has been completed and endorsed by all supporting authorities. The strategy will now go to Full Council on 21 October for formal adoption by Wiltshire Council as a strategic framework document.

Final chance to submit feedback for Gloucestershire's Local Nature Recovery Strategy

A six week consultation on Gloucestershire's Local Nature Recovery Strategy is coming to a close.

Farmers and landowners have three days left to have their say on the strategy, with the consultation closing on October 19.

Gloucestershire already benefits from a strong foundation of scientific data and collaborative projects, such as county-wide mapping of habitats and an emerging Nature Recovery Network. The LNRS builds on this work, highlighting locations where new habitats can be created and existing ones improved, across both urban and rural areas.

Help shape Somerset's nature recovery plan

A consultation has been launched to help shape a long-term plan to protect and restore local wildlife and habitats in Somerset.

Somerset Council is inviting residents, landowners, community groups, and businesses to have their say on the area’s first Local Nature Recovery Strategy (LNRS), a statutory plan to protect and restore wildlife and habitats.

The LNRS will help to guide action and investment in areas where nature recovery is most needed. The consultation closes on October 31 2025.

Share your thoughts on Devon's Local Nature Recovery Strategy

Devon County Council has launched a draft of its blueprint to protect and restore nature across the county, and is asking farmers and landowners to share their thoughts.

The Devon Local Nature Recovery Strategy (LNRS) has been developed over the last two years through a process involving discussions with stakeholder organisations and wildlife experts, information gathering and mapping.

As part of the consultation process, the council is inviting CLA members to join an online at a farming-focused webinar on Thursday 16 October to hear how farmers and land managers can use the Devon LNRS to understand the species and habitats in their area and the actions that could support their conservation and recovery.
