‘The Raging Bull’ to join CLA Next Generation Conference as guest speaker

Rugby Union legend and Celebrity MasterChef winner Phil Vickery MBE DL, known by some fans as ‘The Raging Bull’, will be joining our CLA Next Generation Conference and dinner on 1-2 May at the Whitbourne Estate near Worcester.

As well as being capped 73 by his country for Rugby Union and lifting the Webb Ellis trophy as England captain in 2003, Phil has a passion for farming and food production. He is patron of The Country Food Trust charity which produces food and donates it to those in need, while his is brother still runs the family farm in Cornwall.

Talking about the importance of farming, the countryside, and inspiring people to eat well, Phil will be our guest speaker for the CLA Next Generation event which promises to provide guidance to the young entrepreneurs and the land managers of the future.

Alongside Phil, other speakers and CLA experts, the conference will address a variety of current opportunities and future challenges for land managers who have recently taken over the family business or will do so shortly. This includes Joe Evans, who is CLA Vice President and whose family manage Whitbourne Estate. Joe will offer an honest insight into his experiences running and developing enterprises on the estate, and the successes and pitfalls he’s experienced along the way.
