Join the CLA's Agricultural Transition Roadshow events in 2023
Join CLA experts, Defra and Rural Payments Agency for a series of events looking at the latest developments regarding England’s agricultural transition to Environmental Land Management, including the Sustainable Farming Incentive and Countryside StewardshipIt is easy to be overwhelmed at the scale of change under England’s agricultural transition. The transition continues to move forward in 2023, with January’s announcements about more funding through Countryside Stewardship and the Sustainable Farming Scheme.
To explore these developments, the CLA is organising another series of roadshows across England this spring to bring members up to speed in March and April. The events taking place are:

They will include the latest information on the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive offer for 2023, new changes to Countryside Stewardship and other productivity schemes. Building on the success of the 2022 roadshows, the 2023 programme of events will follow a similar two-hour format, including a CLA presentation on the latest policy updates, along with breakout sessions where members can quiz the CLA’s policy experts. Similar to 2022, the roadshows will be attended by representatives from Defra and the Rural Payments Agency, who will be on hand to answer questions directly and hear feedback.
New for 2023 will be presentations from consultants offering free help and advice to Basic Payment Scheme-eligible farmers under the Future Farming Resilience Fund. These presentations will demonstrate the kinds of support on offer and how CLA members can benefit from this Defra-funded scheme.
