OnPath Energy is the UK’s leading land-based renewable energy developer who has partnered with landowners helping them generate more value from their land for almost two decades.

Since 2006 our team of experts have secured planning permission for 14 wind farms and currently operate twelve onshore wind farms across Scotland and England with a combined installed generation capacity of 252MW. In addition to this we have planning permission for a further 568 MW and a pipeline of around 3GW on onshore wind, solar and energy storage.

Formerly Banks Renewables, OnPath Energy is now owned by Brookfield Asset Management and operates within the world’s largest fund series dedicated to accelerating the transition to net zero.

Being part of the Brookfield ecosystem supports us by developing access to supply chains, capital and PPA markets.

  • Our seven-strong team of planners, supported by market-leading consultants pride themselves on consenting challenging projects and have planning success rate of 79%.
  • We are committed to providing a personal service and will continually consult with landowners and their advisers throughout the development process to ensure that their opinions are heard.
  • OnPath Energy will fund the project and cover professional costs, so landowners are not out of pocket.

What our business landowners say

Charles Hartley, landowner, Common Farm Solar Park:

“The OnPath team has an excellent track record of successful renewables projects in Yorkshire that deliver not only for the landowner, but for the local community, economy and the environment. The OnPath team has taken the time to understand my needs and those of the local community, which has led to a relationship that is based upon trust.

"I’m delighted that the project is set to deliver a 69% biodiversity net gain. Under the panels a species rich habitat will be created, areas of the site will be managed for birds, particularly lapwing and skylark. Bat and bird boxes will be installed, and new hedgerows and trees will be planted. Common Farm will generate clean, green electricity for many years to come, helping improve the UK’s energy security. It will provide me with long term financial security and the peace-of-mind, that I will have a steady income stream, whatever the weather."

David Thompson, landowner, Lambs Hill Wind Farm:

“Renewables they’re the next crops for farmers. It’s the power of the future.”
