Meeting with Dr Marie Tidball, MP
The CLA North team, along with CLA members, recently met with Penistone and Stocksbridge constituency MP Dr Marie Tidball to discuss rural matters.We had a very constructive meeting with CLA members, along with CLA Director North Harriet Ranson and Comms Manager Henk Geertsema with Dr Marie Tidball MP (Penistone & Stocksbridge) earlier today at Round Green Farm, Worsborough - thank you Richard Elmhirst for hosting.
The discussion covered a wide variety of topics, including the current energy & fertiliser concerns given the war in the Middle East; supply chain issues, particularly market forces and the sway of retailers; arable + livestock stock farming challenges - and profitability, particularly in relation to Minette Batters DL Farm Profitability Review; the planning system & diversification; fly-tipping; rural policing & engagement with South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority and Mayor Oliver Coppard.
No doubt there will be future follow-on meetings, with numerous actions in the pipeline.
