Kevin Hollinrake’s farmer roundtable meeting (30 July)

Paul Caldwell, Chief Executive, RPA attended with colleagues who gave a progress update on the Agricultural Transition Plan It provides an update from the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) on the rollout of the Sustainable Farming Incentive in 2022, including which standards will be included in the offer. The presentation was followed by a lively Q&A. Farmers were also reminded to consider applying for a Future Farming Resilience Fund grant. The fund awards grants to organisations so that they can support farmers and land managers who are in receipt of Basic Payment Scheme (BPS) payments.

The support will be offered free of charge to farmers and land managers by organisations known and trusted in the farming community. It could be delivered in the form of workshops supported by experts or through direct, one-to-one advice.
