CLA Charitable Trust grants in the North
The latest round of the CLA Charitable Trust grants (April) have been made, with the trustees agreeing to 14 grants nationally, totaling nearly £70,000.The latest round CLA Charitable Trust (£5,000) grants have been made to:
- Camp JoJo in Appleby-in-Westmorland, Cumbria (hosted by former CLA Director Douglas Chalmers) - towards costs of a marquee at the new site which will provide camping experiences for families of children with complex additional needs and disabilities.
- Growing Well Ltd in Sizergh, Kendal – for their core ‘Recovery Through Activity Programme’ supporting people experiencing mental ill health through horticultural activities and therapeutic support.
- School Food Matters in Tyne and Wear – funding to support the ‘Young Marketeers Newcastle’ programme supporting eight primary schools to grow fruit and vegetables in their school garden and selling them at a local market.
- West End Women and Girls Centre in Newcastle – funding for essential core salary costs for their community farm to support women and girls.
- Whirlow Hall Farm Trust in Sheffield – grant to benefit farm-based education programme for vulnerable and disadvantaged young people.
