What a way to start the day

A sell-out Country Land and Business Association (CLA) Big Breakfast at the Royal Three Counties Show
CLA Big Breakfast 2025

With thunderous rain the day before, the sun shone for those arriving for the first day of The Royal Three Counties Show, and guests of the CLA flocked to the Members Pavilion to enjoy a sell-out Big Breakfast event.

Again, the event was generously sponsored by local firms, mfg Solicitors and The Rural Planning Co., and is always a staple for members and non-members alike.

Attendees were welcomed by the smell of fresh coffee and the opportunity to network with colleagues and friends.

CLA Vice President, Joe Evans gave an update on the latest policy affecting the farming and land management industry, whilst guests enjoyed a locally produced, full English breakfast.

It was wonderful to be able to present CLA updates at my home show, with standing room only available. The breakfast was delicious and we were all treated to an inspirational talk by Murf from The Beefy Boys. In an industry where so much of the work is done in isolation, these shows are a great opportunity for friends, peers and professionals to all come together.

Guest speaker, Anthony Murphy, one of the Founders and Directors of The Beefy Boys, gave an engaging and entertaining account of how they set up their restaurants, and why locally produced food is so important to their business.

There was then a question and answer session where attendees asked about various topics including how US meat imports would affect UK farmers.

CLA Midlands Regional Director, Sophie Dwerryhouse said “The CLA Big Breakfast is always a popular event, and this year was no exception.

“It really is the perfect way to kick off the day at the show, and it gives us the perfect opportunity to see members face-to-face to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing the industry right now.

“These shows really are the heart and soul of rural communities, bringing people together and giving them often a much needed day out from the stresses of daily routine.”

Next year’s CLA Big Breakfast will be held 12th June. This event will be available to book early in 2026, keep an eye on CLA emails and the website to be the first to book your tickets.
