Standing Room Only for the CLA Big Breakfast

Another sell-out CLA Big Breakfast at the Royal Three Counties Show
CLA BB 2026

A calendar highlight for members, the CLA Big Breakfast took place on Friday 12 June. Having sold out in May, the event welcomed guests with the smell of fresh coffee and the chance to catch up with colleagues and friends.

The event was generously sponsored by; mfg Solicitors, The Rural Property Group and Fisher German.

CLA President Gavin Lane opened the event with an update on the latest policy developments affecting the rural sector, while guests enjoyed a locally sourced full English breakfast.

Gavin said “What a start to the day. It was wonderful to meet so many CLA members and friends, and be able to deliver an update on the work going on behind the scenes at the CLA.

“Having attended many of these summer shows across England and Wales, it really resonates how important they are to the rural community. Bringing people together, offering help and support and giving the opportunity to network and catch up with friends. When the industry is under pressure, these shows provide some relief.”

This year’s guest speakers were Richard Negus, recognised nationally as one of the country’s leading practitioners of hedgerow management, and Patrick Galbraith, one of the UK’s most respected rural and environmental journalists. Their lively question and answer session captivated the audience and prompted some hard-hitting discussion about the future of the rural sector.

With a full house, lively conversation and a shared passion for the future of the countryside, this year’s CLA Big Breakfast was a fitting start to the Royal Three Counties Show. The CLA Midlands team would like to thank its sponsors, speakers and guests for helping make the morning such a memorable success.

Next year’s CLA Big Breakfast will take place on Friday 18th June.
