The Severn Valley Water Management Scheme (SVWMS) has launched a public consultation on the findings of its emerging strategy.

Find out more here and have your say.

The strategy aims not only to reduce flood risk along the length of the River Severn but also to deliver wider social and economic benefits.

The consultation seeks your views on priority areas and potential locations where water can be temporarily stored.

Your input will be vital in shaping a project that may combine nature‑based solutions with engineered interventions to suit your location and ensure it works for the local area.

The consultation closes on 11 March. Additional comments can be sent to SVWMS@environment-agency.gov.uk

The partnership is keen to work with farmers and land managers, not only to draw on your expertise but also to unlock funding opportunities and deliver works that can improve business performance.

We encourage members to complete the consultation using the link here.

The partnership is being led by the Environment Agency, Natural Resources Wales, Powys County Council, and Shropshire Council, SVWMS is determined to find the right balance between nature-based and engineered interventions.
