Success in the sunshine at another simulated clay day
CLA members and friends gathered in the Welsh borders in the beautiful surroundings of the Marrington Estate for the third annual Simulated Clay Shoot.
Clay shooting is an exhilarating alternative to traditional game shooting, using clay targets to replicate the flight and movement of game birds.
Run by Criddle Fieldsports and generously sponsored by CLA Energy Services (Troo Energy), the day kicked off with attendees meeting in the lodge for refreshments before heading off into the valley for the first two drives of the day, with a short break for elevenses in between.
We enjoyed an excellent day of delicious food, shooting and company – not to mention the beautiful weather! The slick organisation in a stunning setting, coupled with wonderful food, drink and hospitality and the effort that had been put into giving each drive a different edge, meant that it was particularly enjoyable day – One of the best simulated days we have attended.
Everyone reconvened for lunch before heading out again for one final drive in the afternoon, with comments being made on the high standard of the simulations recreating the movements of pheasant, grouse and rabbit.
We thoroughly enjoyed sponsoring and attending the CLA Midlands simulated clay shoot. The weather was glorious with a selection of interesting drives, which kept everyone on their toes.
If you are interested in attending a simulated clay day in 2026, please contact the team to be put on the list for further details once they are available.
