The Country Land and Business Association help members navigate the planning system
CLA Midlands Planning and Development Seminar

Earlier in April, the Country Land and Business Association (CLA) responsible for the Midlands region hosted a Planning and Development Seminar alongside their colleagues in the East sponsored by Sheldon Bosley Knight.

Held at a CLA member’s in Buckminster, Leicestershire, attendees were tempted out of the inclement weather and enjoyed the opportunity to learn more about the planning process on both a small and large scale, and ask questions specific to their needs.

The seminar was aimed at land and business owners looking for guidance on the intricacies of the planning process.

The event was chaired by a CLA panel which included planning expert and Senior Policy Adviser, Shannon Fuller and Midlands Rural Surveyor, John Greenshields. Both Mrs Fuller and Mr Greenshields took turns presenting on various aspects of planning covering all from policy to permitted development, advising on potential pitfalls to look out for.

It was great to get out in front of members and discuss the recent updates in planning policy. We were challenged by some interesting questions relating to specific planning applications members are working on, there were certainly themes coming to the surface.
