Farm Business Innovation event goes off without a hitch

Members of the Midlands team attend the Farm Business Innovation Show
FBI 25 - Seminar area

Members of the Midlands team along with colleagues from London attended the popular Farm Business Innovation (FBI) Show held at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham.

The event which is now a part of the Land, Leisure and Tourism Show was well attended with over 11,000 people registered to attend, and featuring 400 exhibitors showcasing the best diversification options in the industry.

Known as the diversification event for farmers, the show provides a comprehensive platform for networking, learning and inspiration offering support to diversify and make the most of land.

As well as having a stand at the show where they met with friends and members, the team also took part in the extensive seminar programme delivering informational and technical talks.

From business planning for tourism, planning in Wales, Inheritance Tax changes and their wider impacts, government environmental funding and private sector funding for the environment, the team covered a variety of topics over the two days.

It was wonderful to be at a busy final show of the year and meet so many members and non-members alike. It really gives us the opportunity to have boots on the ground and get face to face with our members, offering them invaluable support and advice while they make the best decisions for their businesses.

CLA Midlands Rural Surveyor, John Greenshields

It was a privilege to again be asked to be involved in the CLA seminar programme at the Farm Business Innovation Show, and to have the opportunity to speak about Inheritance Tax, how it is changing and what farmers need to think about for their businesses. It was a great opportunity to speak to people face-to-face about these issues, and to showcase what the CLA can do to support those who need guidance during this challenging time. The overwhelming response was that people do need to consider their options when it comes to succession planning and be aware of how the tax system could impact them and their businesses.

CLA Chief Tax Adviser, Louise Speke

It was great to attend the event and meet a variety of business owners looking to expand their offering and potential. This is where the CLA advice structure really shines through with options to support members with tax queries, legal questions, the latest grant information and much more.

Roger Eldergill, CLA Midlands Regional Sales Manager

The event will be taking place again next year on the 4th and 5th November 2026.
