Consultation open on new National Grid Infrastructure

National Grid’s proposal involves upgrading the electricity transmission system between Weston Marsh and East Leicestershire by building a new 400,000 volt (400 kV) overhead line and two new substations. In addition, there is a desire to replace the wires (conductors) on approximately 55 km of existing overhead line, which will increase the capability of that part of our existing network.

The first stage of the public consultation runs until 11:59 pm on Wednesday 6th August. Information, including a map, can be found here.
