The area covered by this new project

Funded by Anglian Water and Essex & Suffolk Water, with support from Water Resources East (WRE), and in consultation with the Environment Agency, Wheatley Watersource is an overarching software solution to communicate, manage and broker water trade.

Its aim is to help all local environments trade and share water sustainably. The Environment Agency has just granted approval to expand the pilot geographical area to cover most of East Anglia including the management catchments; Broadland rivers, Cam & Ely Ouse, Essex and the remainder of Suffolk East.

This is an important project that is looking to prove water sharing/trade in the UK can work. All abstractors, farmers as well as other organisations interested in exploring alternate and sustainable sources of water can to take part.
