Tell us about your role and how your work supports the CLA East team.
As events manager for CLA East I organise and manage the events programme and our attendance at the region’s county shows. I also oversee our webinars and am heavily involved in CLA podcasts.
There haven’t been any physical events in the region for the last 18 months so how has your role changed?
We had to quickly adapt from face-to-face events to online when the pandemic struck to ensure our members were briefed on the latest Covid-19 information situation as well as continuing to roll out our topical industry webinars. The CLA events team found Zoom to be the most audience friendly digital platform allowing the audience to interact with the host and panellists by using the various chat and polling functions.
Looking to the future, what events can our members expect in the region?
We are looking forward to seeing everyone again at physical events and it has been a pleasure to meet members at some of our recent farm walks. We are also exploring hybrid events, giving our members the opportunity to attend in person or take part in the discussion from home or the office.
