Making the most of your CLA membership
CLA East Membership Relations Manager Ellie Gemmill discusses some of the key benefits
Eleanor Gemmill (Ellie) joined the CLA East team in the summer as our Membership Relations Manager and her role is to ensure our members receive the best possible value from their membership.
One of the key benefits is access to free, independent advice from our experienced in-house team. In the East region, we have three advisers (including two chartered surveyors), and more specialised enquiries can be referred to our legal, tax, land use, or business and property teams in London. This can range from guidance on everything from planning matters and rural housing to access, succession and much more.
Ellie believes all members should be making use of this valuable service. “There have been several occasions where I’ve been speaking to members old and new and they are not aware of our advisory services, which could save them money in professional fees.
“Many of our members use us as their ‘back office’ and you are always welcome to contact us for advice or guidance on any enquiries you may have.
"Members can also add people in their family to their membership (usually free of charge) so that those individuals can also access the advice receive our updates, invitations and CLA guidance notes.”
As a CLA member you also have access to a wide range of other benefits and services. Please contact Ellie to find out more about how you can make the most of your membership. Contact Eleanor.gemmill@cla.org.uk
