Devolution discussions
A brief update on CLA discussions with the Mayor of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough
CLA East Director Cath Crowther has met the Mayor of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Paul Bristow to discuss the importance of ensuring the rural economy and rural communities are properly considered and supported.
Speaking after the meeting, Cath said: “It is important for us to engage with all the mayor’s in our region to ensure the rural voice is not forgotten.
“We need to ensure that devolution does not result in rural areas missing out due to a focus purely on towns and cities. It can be a huge opportunity for the rural economy with the right policy support and the CLA will be making the case on our members’ behalf.”
