CLA summer visits and AGMs - photo snapshot
Take a glimpse at some of the visits we held across the region
The CLA East team had the pleasure of welcoming hundreds of members to its summer visits and AGMs across the region.
The season began with members visiting a major farm diversification at Tewinbury in Hertfordshire and a coach tour of nearby Panshanger Park, a haven for people and wildlife.
The next visit was a trip to Thursford in Norfolk where members went behind the scenes of a unique farm diversification, which is home to the world-famous Thursford Christmas Spectacular and the world’s largest collection of steam engines and organs.

For the Lincolnshire visit, we toured A. H. Worth, a fourth generation, family-owned business which includes a major farming operation and vegetable packhouse.

In Nottinghamshire, members visited Oxton Estate and saw a natural burial ground, green waste site and buildings which are being converted into a farm shop and bakehouse.

Boughton Estate was the venue for the Northamptonshire summer visit and AGM. The estate is a working country landscape that extends to over 11,200 acres and features agriculture, forestry, renewable energy, residential and commercial property interests.

In Essex, members enjoyed a visit to Brice Farms, which is home to a major quarry operation, arable farm, golf business, wedding venue, solar scheme and residential and commercial lettings.

Bassmead Manor hosted members for the Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire summer visit and AGM. During a walking and coach tour guests saw the arable farm, spectacular wedding venue and the site of a burial barrow which is one of the oldest funeral traditions in Britain.

Finally, in Suffolk, members visited The Jockey Club, toured the Jockey Club Rooms and had an opportunity to see the Newmarket Training Grounds, which span 2,500 acres.

Our thanks to our hosts at all of the visits, our sponsors who helped make these events possible and all our members who attended.
