CLA meeting with East West Rail
A short summary of recent discussions with East West Rail representatives
The CLA recently met with Alistair Reason, Land & Property Area Manager, and Kate Campbell, Head of External Engagement, from East West Rail to discuss in more detail the impact of the scheme on members, to look at ways of improving the communication and mitigate the negative impacts.
The agenda covered points which were raised by members in our meeting held earlier this year. The topics discussed included communications with landowners, concerns around the intrusive surveys, Farm Business Interviews, location of biodiversity improvements and the CLA’s proposed Infrastructure Code of Practice. East West Rail also provided an update on the timescales, and the impact of the Planning & Infrastructure Bill may have on the project overall.
The CLA will meet again with East West Rail’s Head of Land and Property in a few weeks' time, to follow up on matters raised, and we will organise a meeting for October where landowners can hear directly from East West Rail.
