CLA East supports #Farm24

Find out what some of our team are doing during #Farm24

The CLA East team is supporting #Farm24, agricultures biggest digital extravaganza. The day showcases the extraordinary role of British farmers to the general public as the nation's most trusted food producers and guardians of our iconic countryside.

In the East, like much of the country, the weather has dominated harvest so far this year with the regular heavy rain showers, and more persistent spells of wet weather, making conditions extremely difficult and frustrating.

Here is a taste of what some of our team are getting up to today.

The grey and threatening clouds outside the CLA East office have unfortunately been a common sight this harvest.

Elaine Molton is our events manager. She's spending #Farm24 looking at the logistics for some of the events we are planning for members this autumn.

At Elaine's family farm they are drying wet wheat today after managing to dodge some of the rain earlier this week (above) to start harvesting.
Farm 24 Eleanor.jpg
Eleanor Willats is our graduate rural surveyor and the newest member of our team. During #Farm24 she is helping members with their enquires, which today are looking at grant opportunities and legal matters, among other things.
Farm 24 lee.jpg
Lee Murphy, our communications manager, is spending #Farm24 writing an article for the CLA magazine about how an estate is calculating its natural capital. Keep an eye out for it in the October edition!

If you phone us today there is a good chance that the first person you speak to will be our administration assistant Ellie Gemmill. Ellie supports the team across all our office functions.
