CLA East Hertfordshire summer visit and AGM

Members were treated to a memorable day out at this spectacular estate
Hatfield 2

The CLA East team kicked off its summer visits and AGMs with a visit to Hatfield Park Estate.

Guests heard about regenerative farming, nature conservation, property management and farm diversification during the day.

The estate has been subject to centuries of carefully considered stewardship. During a coach tour, members saw the wonderful natural landscape which includes parkland, woodland and farms and heard about the estate team’s dedication to enhancing both the natural and built environments.

The estate aims to decarbonise in future and work is taking place to fully understand its carbon footprint. Investment has taken place in green energy production, whilst further opportunities are being explored.

Hatfield 3

There is a significant residential lettings portfolio at Hatfield Park which includes a diverse range of properties. In addition, the estate is home to over 100 independent businesses. There is also a unique conference and wedding venue.

Members heard about the estate’s ambitious plans to regenerate Old Hatfield and develop new neighbourhoods within Welwyn Hatfield. These will provide homes, employment opportunities, schools, community facilities and green spaces.

An additional treat for guests was a tour of the Aston Martin showroom which is based at the estate.

This visit was by kind permission of Lord and Lady Salisbury.

Forestry Commission, Longmores Solicitors, Wardell Armstrong and Weldon Beesly kindly sponsored the event.
