The CLA has written to the BBC to express its concern over its decision to axe its Lincolnshire Farmwatch radio programme.

As part of a series of cuts, the programme, which airs on a Sunday evening, is expected to broadcast for the final time in December.

Responding to the news, CLA East Director Cath Crowther said:

“Farming is facing significant, newsworthy challenges, on many fronts.

“I appreciate that budgetary constraints mean difficult decisions must be made. However, the BBC will be doing the rural communities of Lincolnshire a disservice if they do not maintain dedicated farming and rural affairs coverage, in the form of Lincolnshire Farmwatch.”
