CLA member Katherine Round has transformed redundant farm buildings at Appleton House Farm in north Nottinghamshire into two unique self-catering holiday cottages situated in idyllic countryside with onsite therapies, yoga and fitness classes.

The facilities are designed for couples, singles or friends for traditional self-catering breaks and also for those seeking a retreat to enhance their mental & physical wellbeing.

Katherine and her family called upon the CLA to support them on their diversification project from the outset. “From well before I set up the business the CLA came and visited and I discussed my plans with them. They were a listening ear which was really helpful,” says Katherine. “The CLA then advised me on funding avenues to explore and they also provided me with guidance on business rates.”

Katherine says the support of the CLA has been extremely beneficial. “It’s really great to know that the CLA is there and I can call on them for any advice.” Katherine concludes.
