This Guidance Note explains how compulsory purchase can be used within the National Strategic Infrastructure Project process and sign posts further advice. It draws attention to the fact that applications for NSIPs can include compulsory purchase where there project is in the “public interest” – this is not just limited to utilities but can be used by commercial companies too.
