GN02-22 Temporary Structures Including Marquees for Events – Planning and Heritage Issues

Temporary structures like marquees can provide essential income to fund heritage, but local authorities are very reluctant to grant planning permission. This Guidance Note advises on whether planning permission and/or heritage consents are required, and if so it suggests how you can maximise the chances of getting consent in practice. It has been updated to include new 2022 permitted development rights.
