Application deadline approaching for Hampshire County Council's Small Grants Scheme - Countryside Access

04 April 2014

The Small Grants Scheme has a budget of £49,000 for 2014, to help fund projects to improve countryside paths and encourage people to explore more of their local countryside.

The scheme was established in 2004 to give Parish Councils, landowners and other organisations the opportunity to improve and promote access to their local countryside. The scheme provides advice and funding towards projects such as path surfacing, replacing stiles with gates and producing leaflets and mapboards.

The deadlines for 2014 applications are:

25 April

25 July

24 October

Application forms can be downloaded from www.hants.gov.uk/sgs and you can contact sgs@hants.gov.uk with your project ideas.

For more information about the scheme browse through the project ideas, guidance and information on www.hants.gov.uk/sgs, or watch the Supporting Success Funding Community Projects film.

The Small Grants Scheme is typically able to fund up to 50% of the total cost of a project, and for projects in the New Forest an additional 25% funding is provided by the New Forest National Park Authority. For more information and other potential sources of match funding see www.hants.gov.uk/sgs.
