CLA Game Fair commissions Emma Bridgewater to create exclusive, commemorative mug

09 April 2014

The CLA Game Fair has commissioned Emma Bridgewater, one of the UK’s best-known makers of hand-made, hand-decorated pottery to create a souvenir commemorative mug for the 2014 CLA Game Fair, to be held at Blenheim Palace from Friday 18 until Sunday 20 July.

The exclusive earthenware mugs, made at the Emma Bridgewater factory in Stoke-on-Trent, have been designed by Emma and her husband Matthew and are based on the new advertising campaign for the CLA Game Fair that incorporates the legs of generic ‘characters’ that attend the show.

The stylish, highly collectable mugs, which feature the legs of a gardener, a huntsman and hound, a fisherman, a shooter and a gamekeeper, will retail both in advance and from the CLA Game Fair at £19.95 and are expected to appeal particularly to CLA members and Emma Bridgewater collectors.

Matthew Bridgewater commented: “Emma and I are delighted to have been commissioned to create an exclusive mug for the CLA Game Fair, one of the jolliest outdoor events of the year. The show has much to see and do and is extremely popular with our customers who love all things country.”

Tony Wall, Interim Director of the CLA Game Fair, added: “This is the first time we have created CLA Game Fair merchandise and we are delighted to have Emma Bridgewater on board as creator of the new commemorative mug. These stylish and collectable mugs will certainly be a great souvenir of this year’s CLA Game Fair at Blenheim Palace.”
