Property Consultation 2014: London-West Midlands HS2 Route

The consultation was on the introduction of two new property consultation schemes in addition to any statutory schemes.  These were payments to those who were going to stay not leave.  The first was an Alternative Cash Offer which pays 10% of your property value paying between £30,000 and £100,000 if you have owner occupied property within 120m of the centre line.  The second scheme was the Homeowners Payment which pays between £7500 and £22,500 for those living between 120 and 300m for owner occupied property.  These were welcomed by the CLA as whilst they did not address all the issues they were better than what might be achievable under the statutory code.  The CLA said that the scope of these schemes should be increased to include all classes of let property and larger scale rural businesses.
