In April, Defra announced that Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) would be amended in response to reports of planning delays, high costs and a stalled off-site market. The first set of these changes have now been implemented and new regulations for BNG come into effect from 6th August 2026. Published on 4 Aug 2026
