Independent appeals process for farmers and foresters in Wales

18 November 2013

Do you have direct experience of farming or forestry issues- whether as an active or retired farmer, a member of a farming family or in a farming related business?

We are seeking to appoint new members to our independent panel in 2014. Panels consider appeals from farmers and foresters who disagree with decisions made by the Welsh Government concerning subsidy payments. Hearings are held in local Divisional Offices. Recommendations are made to the Minister for Natural Resources and Food. The cases involve real issues that affect real people. The average commitment is around five days a year (including training). Expenses and daily fees are paid. Members have an opportunity to serve the farming community and meet like-minded people from across Wales.
