IfA Standard and Guidance for Archaeological advice by Historic Environment Services

Development proposed by CLA members often has archaeological implications, and poor archaeological practice can have unfortunate implications for members.  The Institute for Archaeologists has proposed a standard and attached guidance, for archaeologists working in local government and planning and private practice.  This CLA response finds the proposal generally sensible, but underlines the need for proportionality, and for the interests of those who manage or own land and archaeology to be taken fully into account.
