If you live in Hampshire, you can check to see if you’ve got access to superfast broadband by entering your postcode and address at www.hants.gov.uk/broadband.
Superfast broadband is currently available to more than 90% of premises in Hampshire, and that number is increasing rapidly thanks to a £28million investment from the public sector.
The benefits for residents range from the ability to stream films to quicker online transactions, plus a more reliable internet connection if working from home.
Businesses can save time and money by organising video calls instead of travelling to see clients, and are able to upload / access shared files and data more easily.
Contrary to what some people think, superfast broadband is often a similar price, and sometimes cheaper than traditional (and often outdated) broadband packages. Check whether superfast broadband is available in your area to find out more.
Hampshire County Council is on track to reach 97.4% of premises with superfast broadband by the end of 2019 – exceeding government targets.
However, there is a small percentage of people who aren’t in the rollout area for superfast broadband. For those affected, there are other options available such as Community Match Funding or the Better Basic Broadband Scheme.
