What about Mobile or Satellite Broadband?

CAN I GET BROADBAND THROUGH A MOBILE DEVICE?

CAN I GET A MOBILE SIGNAL?

If you can get a good 4G signal, you might consider using a dongle or wireless 4G router, which you can buy from a high street or online service provider such as EEO2BT or Three , or outlets such as CurrysPC World.

You can check your coverage for mobile, 3G and 4G for the major networks on Ofcom's coverage checker here

SATELLITE BROADBAND

Satellite is a potential solution where fixed line broadband is not available or where other connections do not work. However, satellite can be more expensive that fixed line broadband and there may be a signal delay (latency), simply due to the distance the signal has to travel. Nevertheless, satellite does offer broadband where fixed line systems are not in place and where wifi cannot operate.

Some CLA members are able to supply satellite solutions as well as other technologies.

If you cannot receive at least 2Mbps download, then you may be eligible for a grant of £350 towards the installation of a satellite or alternative system.
