Roger qualified as a Solicitor in 1985 and spent the first nine years of his career working as a property lawyer in private practice in Wiltshire and Gloucestershire.  He then joined the National Trust in-house Legal Department and spent 8 years carrying out a mix of transactional work and providing legal advice to the National Trust in the management of its property portfolio. He joined the CLA in 2002 and his areas of expertise are property rights including private rights of way and boundary issues, easements, covenants, land registration problems, commons, chancel repair liability and sporting rights along with commercial leases.
