Andrew studied law at Reading University and has been with the CLA as a solicitor since 2010 answering members legal queries and taking part in policy work, he was appointed Chief Legal Adviser in March 2019.  

He has overall responsibility for matters covered by the legal advisory team, also advises on public rights of way, often where new routes are claimed over members land, trespass, occupiers' liability, firearms and field sports.  He was involved in lobbying for a change to the Animals Act 1971 which led to the Control of Horses Act 2015 providing landowners with significant powers to deal with fly-grazing horses.
