Members can find up-to-date information below on agri-environment schemes, including Entry and Organic Entry Level Stewardship (ELS/OELS),  Uplands Entry Level Stewardship (Uplands ELS) and Higher Level Stewardship (HLS) schemes. Grants are available for protecting archaeology and restoring traditional farm buildings, managing land for wildlife, providing management options to protect vulnerable soils, educational access and more.  Find links below and profit from members’ feedback on their experiences.

  • The timing of Environmental Stewardship payments will be changed in 2011 in order to comply with findings of an EU Audit of the scheme (updated 15 August 2011)
  • The CLA is concerned that some farmers have been wrongly advised to apply for  the Uplands Transitional Payment (UTP) on their latest Single Payment Scheme forms. This could lead to cash flow problems  - find out more below. (Posted 15 June 2010)

Solicitors Indemnity Fund . Solicitors in the CLA Legal Team are not covered by the Solicitors Indemnity Fund in relation to professional negligence in relation to any advice given by them.
