Tenancy Deposit Schemes
Since the passing of the Housing Act 2004 - Tenancy Deposit Schemes (TDS) with their aim of reducing the perceived mismanagement of deposits and in particular unfair retention, have been on their way. The Implemention date is now set for 6th April 2007 and if you take a deposit under an assured shorthold tenancy after this date you will have to safeguard the deposit in one of the three Government approved Tenancy Deposit Schemes.
