Renewable Energy Strategy 2008: Key CLA Recommendations The Country Land & Business Association (CLA) has long taken a deep interest in promoting renewable energy from the land, and we have worked closely with government and industry partners in this. Our response sets out clear and urgent recommendations in a wide range of areas, including heat, electricity, transport fuels, agriculture and forestry. We urge Government to take forward our recommendations, recognising (as advised by Sir Nicholas Stern) that delay is costly. We suggest that the first test for Government will be its response to the amendment to the energy bill, which is to be tabled in the House of Lords to require Government to introduce within 12 months a tariff mechanism to support small and medium sized renewable heat and electricity generation. |

Responsible for national land use policy issues, and has particular responsibility for renewable energy and compensation campaigns and National negotiations. Also provides advice to members on land use issues, including farming, alternative enterprise, minerals, shooting and wayleaves and easements.

Please note that whilst the advisers are able to advise on a wide range of subjects relating to land ownership, they cannot act in place of a member's own solicitor, accountant, surveyor and tax specialist by, for example, drafting documents or corresponding on their behalf and may be precluded, by the rules of their own professions, from advising one CLA member against another CLA member in the case of conflict.
Solicitors Indemnity Fund . Solicitors in the CLA Legal Team are not covered by the Solicitors Indemnity Fund in relation to professional negligence in relation to any advice given by them.
