Government Minister Lord Henley visits The CLA Game Fair

Government Minister Lord Henley visits The CLA Game Fair

Government Minister Lord Oliver Henley today (24 July 2011) toured The CLA Game Fair – Britain's biggest countryside show.

Lord Henley was the fourth Defra minister officially to visit the event – meaning that the Department's entire ministerial team has visited The CLA Game Fair this year.

The Minister said: "I have enjoyed it enormously and have been very impressed by the size of The CLA Game Fair and the variety of the things to do. It shows what the CLA can do and what it represents for the rural economy.

"The food area is very interesting and I have seen some wonderful stands in the land management and the renewable sections."

CLA President William Worsley said: "It has been a pleasure to accompany Lord Henley around The CLA Game Fair. He is a great friend of the countryside and does an excellent job in government."

Defra Secretary of State Caroline Spelman, Farming Minister Jim Paice and Natural Environment Minister Richard Benyon all visited and toured The CLA Game Fair on Friday together with several other government ministers.
