Donít miss out on funding deadline, warns CLAYorkshire farmers who have not yet received a Single Payment Scheme application pack are being urged to contact the Rural Payments Agency (RPA) to avoid missing out on vital funding.
Rural economy experts, the CLA are issuing the appeal following news from the RPA that up to 1,500 farmers around the country have not yet been sent an application pack.
With the RPA's May 17 deadline for applications now just a few weeks away, CLA Yorkshire Regional Director Dorothy Fairburn is keen to make sure that local farmers don't miss out.
"Meeting this deadline is crucial for many local farmers because the Single Payment provides a key revenue stream, without which they simply couldn't continue to operate," she said.
"The whole situation has been complicated and delayed even further this year by the RPA's re-mapping process, which appears to be generating a much larger than usual workload for the agency."
Farmers who have not yet received their SP5 application packs should urgently contact the RPA's customer service centre on 0845 603 7777.
