Farm Walk at West Woodyates Manor, Salisbury The Campaign for the Farmed Environment is organising this farm walk on Tuesday 1 November from 2pm – 4.30pm by kind permission of Mr Tim Palmer and the walk will be led by Mike Swan, of the GWCT. Predominantly an arable enterprise, the 1000-acre farm hosts ELS arable options such as wild bird covers, unharvested cereal headlands and beetle banks as well as CFE voluntary measures such as insect rich brood-rearing habitat.
Mike will take us around the farm, looking at options in place to discuss their management; understand which the best mixes are for the purpose and getting success from these options from both a wild bird and game shooting perspective.
This event is free of charge and attendees will have the chance to collect a FREE bag of seed (wild bird cover or pollen and nectar) for their own farm. Refreshments will be available before departure at 4.30pm.
West Woodyates is just off the A354, halfway between Salisbury and Blandford and will be 'CFE' signed. Booking is essential please contact Louise Stratton, CFE co-ordinator, to book a place on 01985 844356 or louise.stratton@cfeonline.org.uk. |
